“Lend a Hand” is an inspiring initiative undertaken by the Rotaract Club of Kandy Metropolitan. Lawrence Hyde Boys Home, Kandy, a home to 20 orphan boys, reached out to the club seeking assistance, showcasing the far-reaching impact of our club’s successful Public Relations (PR) activities for previous projects. The project commenced with a donation drive aimed at collecting funds and essential items to support the boys’ home.
Additionally, a delightful lunch was organized to bring joy and nourishment to the boys. This initial event served as the foundation for an ongoing commitment to make a positive impact on the lives of these underprivileged children.From January 2023 to May 2023, the Rotaract Club of Kandy Metropolitan provided monthly lunches to the boys at the Lawrence Hyde Boys Home. This consistent effort aimed to not only address their immediate nutritional needs but also to establish a sense of regular support and care in their lives.
By extending our assistance over five months, we were able to foster a sense of community and create a lasting bond with the boys. The project exemplified our club’s dedication to making a tangible difference in the lives of those in need. As the Rotaract Club of Kandy Metropolitan looks towards the future, we are determined to continue our efforts in supporting similar communities. “Lend a Hand” has set a precedent for our club’s commitment to uplift and empower those who face adversity. Through ongoing initiatives, we aim to extend our reach and positively impact the lives of more individuals in need.
